Heifer International, Wednesday, February 1

Wednesday morning we visited Heifer International, an organization that provides high quality livestock (goats, chickens, cows) and education about proper care and reproduction to poor people to help them improve their economic situations and become self-sufficient. We saw two incredible farms that used the techniques for livestock care, feeding, and sustainable agriculture that Heifer International supports. The difference that education makes in these farmers’ lives is immense! We hope that at some future time, when water issues are improved, that Hedaru can benefit from some of these techniques.
